Accomodation – From the beachfront hostel, to the luxury hotel on the top floor of a skyscraper: there are countless hotel accommodations offered in Thailand. Whatever your budget, in the country you will find facilities that will satisfy your desires.
Food – Thai cuisine will delight you with unusual flavors and daring combinations. Its main ingredients are rice, vegetables, spices and tasty tropical fruits that all meet together on the plate, in a continuous reference between the four basic flavors, sweet, salty, sour and bitter. A recurring note is spicy, which is almost never missing in Thai dishes.
Flying to Thailand – There are many airlines that travel from Italy to Thailand with direct connections. Bangkok, the capital and main Thai airport, is easily accessible thanks to the numerous direct weekly flights from Milan Malpensa and Rome Fiumicino managed by the Thai Airways airline.
Domestic Flights: Air travel from one location to another in Thailand has affordable prices. Almost all flights depart from Bangkok and arrive in Chiang Mai, Ko Samui and Phuket.
Getting around in Bangkok – You can move around the city on foot, by taxi or tuk tuks. Bangkok has the most regular taxi service in the whole country, while in other places these can be private cars with negotiable rates. The tuk tuks, on the other hand, are small motor vehicles whose rate must be agreed with the driver before departure.
Buses and trains – The Thai railway network connects the four corners of the country and is a good alternative to buses, also the train is the ideal way for short trips from Bangkok to Ayutthaya and Lopburi. The railways are operated by the State Railway of Thailand and are divided into 4 main lines: north, south, north-east and east. All long-distance trains depart from Bangkok’s Hualamphong station. Trains are divided into 3 classes: first, second and third. Tickets have variable prices and can be purchased in stations, travel agencies or by requesting a hotel. Buses: the Thai bus network is widespread, each city is served by public buses and has its own BKS station. Inquiring before leaving is the main rule to follow in order not to be scammed.
